Kona Steel Guitar Festival
Amy Sullivan

Amy Sullivan

Amy is from Spokane, WA. She got her start on the steel after meeting a lap steel musician in Spokane. She loved the sound and wanted to learn how to make that kind of music.

She has been playing for a little over two years. Her musical influences are her dad who taught her some ‘ukulele, Bryan Tolentino, and Alan Akaka.

She likes all kinds of music: classical, folk, world, jazz, Tin Pan Alley, show tunes, and, of course, Hawaiian.

Now retired, she spends some of her time learning to play slack key guitar and finger-style ‘ukulele. She also serves on the board of Bachfest, which brings classical musicians to Spokane throughout the year.
